How can you achieve success in business? If you are like me, I thought in the past I had to chase potential customers. I spammed like crazy on my Facebook profile. When I was out in the community, I gave a business flyer or business card to anyone who was breathing. Did not matter if the person was a good match or not? I chased that person!
With some experience, I learned that not every people was a good fit for my products and services. Instead, I got more focused. I gave some serious thought about what my ideal customer looked like. Fleshing out my ideal customer made a huge difference in the person that I approached with my services and products.
Knowing Your Ideal Customer
When I identified my ideal customer, my business actually started to grow. What a surprise! It was a matter of matching the services and products to the right customer who had a need I could fill. Not rocket science, but I had to have that moment of realization.
As I began to acquire an active customer list, I realized that I had to up my game with my customer service. If I did not go the extra mile with my customer service, then the client might just go find another representative to help her with her product or service needs.
It is easier to keep an old customer than to go out and get a new one. So, excellent customer service is a must.
Improve Your Customer Service
What are some things that we business owners can do to improve our customer service?
- We can write a note or give a call to that existed customer to thank her for her business.
- We can seek feedback from our clients through surveys and polls.
- We can follow up with the customer to see how the products or services are working for her.
- We can have an onboarding process for customers. Example: demonstrating how to place an order online.
- We can create a great experience for the client before and after the sale or service completion.
Of course, this is just a short list. However, you achieve success.
If you sit down and do some brainstorming, you can come up with even more ideas for improving your customer service. I encourage you to get creative so that you can grow and build your business.
After all the goal is to keep established customers while we are acquiring new ones. We can achieve success.
