How Can Small Business Use Facebook to Their Advantage?

How can small business useFacebook to their advantage?  In the beginning, Facebook was a place to just  hangout with family and friends. However, in the last few months, Facebook has taken it to a whole new level with the engagement piece.

It has been interesting to watch the commerce and marketing evolve. In truth, it is just downright exciting to be a part of this evolution of a social media platform.

This wave of change can be of a huge benefit  to entrepreneurs and small business owners. Typically,  traditional marketing can be out of reach for a small business simply due to the expense.  For example, awhile back just to run a small ad in one of the local marketing bulletin cost me around $1200 for one publication. The $1200 put a really big bent in my already tight budget.

Since Facebook has gotten into the game of marketing, a small business owner can actually afford to advertise to a large audience. Facebook offers us the opportunity to create an ad that can reach our target audience for as little as a one dollar per day. Plus, once we have posted on our facebook pages, we can boost the post to a target audience.

The “How to Create a Facebook Ad” is relatively simple. The more difficult piece is knowing your target audience. We have to be able to zero in on their problem or need so that we can offer a solution.

In other words,  we have to get the right message to the right people. There has to be a match here. This congruence can make or break a small business owner.

So, I challenge you to define your target audience and their specific need or problem so that you can get about the task of filling it.

Please feel free to add questions or comments below. Have a great rest of the week.

Warmest Regards,
Myra Reidy
